The Aiken County Republican Party Precinct Reorganization meetings will be held on March 8. These meetings will be held across the county at various precinct locations. Although there are a few exceptions, most meetings will take place at 7 p.m.. Please see the list for details but be sure to call the organizer if you have doubts about the time.

Any registered voter can participate in Precinct Reorganization, but since Voter Registration cards are the only identification that will accepted, please be sure to bring your card with you!

At the meetings, participants will do the following:

  1. Elect Republican Party precinct officers;
  2. Elect Delegates to the upcoming Aiken County GOP Convention; and
  3. Pass resolutions to forward to the convention and any other business that may come up.

Delegates elected at the precinct meetings can then attend the county convention on Thursday, April 19. The convention location hasn't been determined yet. Delegates to the county convention will have several important jobs to do:

  1. Elect the Aiken County GOP officers: Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Committeeman;
  2. Vote in the upcoming Presidential straw poll (we might even have some candidates there!);
  3. Vote on resolutions offered to the convention; and
  4. Elect delegates to the South Carolina State GOP Convention to be held in May in Columbia.

This is a great opportunity to meet your fellow Republican neighbors and be involved in the political process. I hope you'll be able to attend the precinct meetings and the county convention!
